Little Ferry is a Bergen County town in New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, its approximate population was 11,000 people. The town was formed by an act of the New Jersey Legislature in September 1894, from portions of Lodi and New Barbadoes. And it was also formed in 1894 during the “Boroughitis” phenomenon, then sweeping through Bergen County, in which 26 were formed. During the colonial era, it was the site of an important ferry crossing between Bergen and Hackensack, operated by rope until 1826, when it was replaced by a bridge. It borders the municipalities of Hackensack, Moonachie, Ridgefield, Ridgefield Park, South Hackensack, and Teterboro.
